About Banning California
Banning is a city in Riverside California. It is located in the San Gorgonio Pass which is also called Banning Pass. Banning was named Moore City after Ransom B. Moore, a local politician and cattle rancher. This didn’t last long though as the city was soon renamed after Moore’s good friend Phineas Banning who ran stagecoaches through the pass and pastured sheep there as well. Banning had a population of 31,221 as of 2019. At an elevation of 2,349 feet Banning enjoys more favorable year-round temperatures than surrounding areas.
